Did you know that purchasing
many of your pet's medications from sources other than your
veterinarian voids the guarantees?
All of the major companies that produce pet medications have
a policy against the selling of their products through any
source other than the veterinarian. Zoetis (formerly known
as Pfizer) has shared letters with us that document that
products like Rimadyl and Revolution are not supposed to be
sold by any 3rd party providers, such as
"Our policy is to sell our prescription
medications for dogs and cats exclusively to licensed
veterinarians... Since we cannot always be certain how our
products reach unauthorized distributors we cannot always
ensure that proper handling and / or storage has occurred or
that such products are not counterfeit. As a result, for
products purchased through non-authorized distributors, we
reserve the right to refuse to honor associated product
guarantees that we may have offered in the past; likewise,
we may refuse to provide financial support in the event of
an adverse experience, lack of efficacy, or quality defect
associated with such products."

We feel very fortunate to have an animal hospital with a
staff that puts us at ease when we call (no matter how big or
small the issue) and a doctor that takes time to listen and
treats our pets as if they are her own. -- Beth M.
